 THE DISC JOCKEYS

Brian White

Throughout his 30 year career, Brian White has worked at some of America's legendary radio stations. His commercial radio experience began in 1970. That's when Brian came to KREL in Corona, California. Even folks who aren't in the radio business know that you have to get your training in the smaller towns before moving to the major markets. Therefore, White soon after moved to KAMP in El Centro, California and stayed there for the better part of 2 years. In late '72, he reached his goal by landing a gig at KSEA in San Diego. Come 1973, Brian headed east to WDRQ in the Motor City. Following a year in Detroit, White made the top market, New York City. Brian would spend a year at WXLO (99X) in the Big Apple. By 1975, he headed back west to KCBQ in San Diego. He stayed in the Golden State for the next 2 years, working also at (in order) KDAY, Los Angeles, KROY, Sacramento, and once more in L.A. at KIIS-FM. As the 70's came to a close, White handled an air shift in Chicago at WEFM. By 1980, he was once more in California at KGGI in Riverside/San Bernadino. 1982 found him back in Detroit for a second go-round at WDRQ. In '84, White began a 3 year stint at KKBQ in Houston., followed by a year at KITY (Power 93) in San Antonio. Then it was on to WBJW (BJ105) in Orlando, then a move back to Sacramento at KSFM (FM102). In the 90's, Brian worked the mic at WMXB (B103.7) in Richmond, Virginia (1991-93), KFRC, San Francisco ('93-'94), WMAS in Springfield, Mass. ('95-'96), and then spent the remainder of the 20th century at KBGO Las Vegas (1996-99). Just before 2000, Brian White secured the Ops Manager position at Cumulus Broadcasting's WSYN (Sunny 106.5) in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Lots of stops, lots of memories, lots of great radio.
