One of America's foremost authorities from the 'Golden Age' of Top 40. Quick-witted, enthusiastic and infectious (though not in a harmful way). That's how some have described Bob Worthington. The Chicago native began his career in 1978 at WCGO-AM/WTAS-FM in Chicago Heights-Crete, Illinois. There Bob handled the 6:30 to Midnight shift until 1982. By the Spring of 1983, Worthington landed a gig at WYEN-FM in Chicago. He worked middays and PM drive at the WIndy City outlet for 3 years. In June of '86, Bob headed east to the Big Apple. He arrived at WNSR-FM (Mix 105). Like 'Y-107', he handled both the 10-3 and 3-7 gigs. While at Mix 105, Worthington went national in a big way. For the better part of a decade, he was the host and producer of the coast-to-coast 'Solid Gold Saturday Night' show live from NYC. While doing the national thing, Bob left WNSR in 1991 and saw duty at WYXR (Star 104.5) down the Jersey Turnpike in Philadelphia. He did fill-ins and for awhile, AM Drive. In the Spring of '95, Bob drove back up I-295 to do mornings at WPAT-FM (Today's 93.1). That was followed by a swing stint at WCBS-FM 101 for a few months. When SGSN came the end of its successful run, Worthington soon found himself in Baltimore. That's where he is in 2001, hosting PM Drive at Good Time Oldies 105.7 WQSR. Bob also is busy with voiceover work in the Baltimore-D.C. market. He's heard on campaigns for such notables as Johns Hopkins University and Navy Football.
