 THE DISC JOCKEYS

Dave Fleetwood

Dave Fleetwood is a guy who has worked radio stations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region of the USA. His travels have taken him primarily to the Delmarva Peninsula area, and for a time Fleetwood worked at Philadelphia Oldies outlet 98.1 FM WOGL. Today, he does the 1-5 PM shift at Cruisin' 92.1 WVLT-FM in Vineland, New Jersey.

Dave Fleetwood loves the oldies and he loves radio. Fleetwood spent the better part of the 70's at WSUX-FM in Seaford, Delaware. At a 2005 reunion event for that station, it was revealed that Fleetwood and WSUX station owner Bill Crisp were two very volatile guys who somehow stayed out of each other's way and took care of their business. There were exceptions to the rule, like the time Crisp showed up at the station at 3:30 one morning on his way to an early morning appointment several hours away. He had to swing by and get some things necessary for his trip that he had locked in his office. When Crisp arrived, he could not enter his office. Fleetwood had barricaded himself inside the suite while entertaining a lady friend who stopped by for a social call earlier in the evening.

On another occasion, overnight announcer Bob Mathers had misplaced his key to the station and banged on the door just prior to midnight for someone to let him in. Fleetwood came to the door and gave him entrance, and only when both men walked out of the shadows, did Mathers notice a shotgun in Fleetwood's hand. Fully loaded. When asked to explain, Fleetwood said a local bully had threatened him and he was ready for action.

Dave Fleetwood is a very energetic and knowledgable air personality. His wild times are behind him and he loves bringing back the memories every afternoon on Cruisin' 92.1 in Vineland, N.J.
